Dries Van Noten S/S 08

It's kind of like tourist-chic. If that weren't a contradiction of terms. Nevertheless, Dries Van Noten's SS08 show has a very holiday/adventure/fun/natural/unserious vibe. THIS IS FANTASTIC.

I love that there is seemingly a million patterns and that not one of the looks clashes. These vibrant florals and graphic prints go together as well as bread and butter! They are bright and luxurious fabrics which make you want to travel to exotic beaches and far away rainforests! The designs themselves are simple yet intricate with subtle touches like the tie-belts, shoulder-detailing, cumberbund-like waists, neat collars and exaggerated sleeves which add volume and depth to the pieces.

The mood here is very relaxed, very Spring/Summer, very easy. And I love that. I love that these clothes look like you could actually wear them and - God forbid! - be very comfortable whilst doing so. PLUS, and here's the clincher, you would not only be comfy, but you'd look fabulous, too!

Rocket science in this business.

Ironicly is this how my neighbours looked when they got back from a summer of traveling trough africa and south asia. They looked good for once.
