RIGHT NOW eight

Brian Lobel is an American performance artist and researcher, currently based in London. For RIGHT NOW he contributed three wonderful poems, Yellow, losing Judas and she. Their wry humour, matter-of-factness and abstract intimacy are typically Brian Lobel, whose work is very much about his own state of being, his own way of looking at the world.

Brian has performed all over the USA and in London has appeared in places like Sadler's Wells, Shunt, Act Art at The Arches and Stoke Newington International Airport. He is currently working on FUN WITH CANCER PATIENTS, a project supported by an Arts Award from the Wellcome Trust, for which he works with young cancer sufferers to devise performances.

I am very happy to have Brian's contribution to RIGHT NOW. It makes all those people - who don't want to marry Yellow (but like it), who have issues with loud voices in libraries (and generally), or who are stalkers (what can you do?) - feel so much more comfortable. I know I do. Thanks, Brian.
