Marc Jacobs F/W 2008
Marc. Jacobs. Is. Back. Jacobs presented a tight collection with lots of stand-alone pieces that'll sell like hot-cakes.
Smartest move ever: there are stellar arty/unusual/clever combinations for the stylists to play with, but also some great classic - sophistiquee - pieces which the editors will snap up. In addition there are great shoes; an unusual colour palette (next big thing: muted pastels); fabulous new shapes (see coats, jumpers); and interesting art-deco accessories.
My favourite bit is the hemlines and coat/skirt lengths which give the collection this bizarrely beautiful 1920's/1980's-hybrid feel. I think it is fantastic.
