Marina Abramovic was born on November 30, 1946, in Belgrade. She is one of the world's most eminent performance artists. Her work is predominantly body-oriented, and she pushes hers to its extreme both physically and mentally, whilst inviting the public to spectate. Abramovic's work is prolific and highly influential, she has performed in the world's major cities and in it's most famous galleries and museums. Her early performances (1970's) focused on the body's physical limits, the concept of rhythm, the idea of performance in and out of consciousness and Art's expectation on the artist. This short clip is from that period.
