THE BEST SHOW OF NY FASHION WEEK S/S 08!

PHI

I LOVE THIS COLLECTION. So dark, edgy, cool, smart, sleek, gritty. It's incredibly wearable, with a load of great individual pieces that also look ace teamed together. I'm a huge fan of the colour-palette (or lack thereof) and the styling is exceptional.

It's a bit of a breath of fresh air when compared with the very feminine, lady-like sentiment that was unmissable during NY Fashion Week. This collection really brought a nice dose of toughness to New York's fashion offerings and is a welcome sign for us who prefer a more monotone way of dressing.

Bravo, Phi! I'm digging this BIG TIME. Here's some looks ...

Freja - with a well-fitted black coat you'll never go wrong. Also, the mixing and layering of different patterns is done fabulously here.
Magdalena - the length of these shorts works perfectly, by revealing that bit of knee these shorts go from daggy to sexy! Plus they look super comfy, wearable! And those zips add such a cool touch!
Freja - I love the contrast of the somewhat rigid, masculine jacket with this short school-girl skirt, it creates perfect balance and that's what it's all about!
Magdalena - the lines created by this outfit are superb. The lapels of the jacket are unusual but refined, the shirt berneath adds a touch of softness and the great fit of the pant contributes to the overall sleek effect here.
Kinga - again the juxtaposition of masculine with feminine which I adore. This mini skirt is the perfect complement to the uber-neat shirt and oversized jacket (which maintains those great lapels!), creating a mixed, but not messy, look. Practical and sexy.
Carolina - I love the pattern of the skirt and the length is great, especially with the split to introduce a bit more leg. The sheer shirt is fantastic in that it's sexy but still quite subtly so with its long sleeves and opaque breast-pannels. Fab.

What do you think of Phi?

I agree with you! I've a soft spot for the juxtaposition of the feminity and masculity of an outfit. My fave outfit is the first one Freja wore.

Hi Raddest

Glad to see you back in the game... just when I was doubting your standing as a 'dedicated follower of fashion.'!
