FEATURED BAND: Sickboy

3/4 of Sickboy
Mark Spence
Paul Derricott
Benjamin Hyde - now that's a pattern-combo if ever I saw one!
James Swinbanks
James, Mark and Paul

Australian band that claims they sound like "an off-off-Broadway musical without a budget....".

The band consists of Mark Spence on guitar, James Swinbanks on bass, Paul Derricott on drums and Ben Hyde on guitar. Mark, James and Ben all sing.

They are indie rockers. They play "real" rock and roll. They have lots of great songs, some of my faves include "It's OK, I'm Scared Too", "Flying" and "Pale".

If you want to check them out go to www.myspace.com/sickboy or www.triplejunearthed.com/Artists/View.aspx?artistid=482

They are simply a great rock band who cite some of their influences as Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Nirvana, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, David Bowie, The Pixies, Radiohead, Iggy Pop, Beck, Snow Patrol, Oscar Wilde, people who talk too much, teachers who sleep with their students, throwing up, running away, hanging around, and getting by ... some pretty interesting influences.

Check. Them. Out. I dare you!
