Jesse Darling at Arcadia_Missa

Arcadia_Missa is a project/studio/event space and publishers based in Peckham in South London. As part of their SURVIVAL SERIES they present a solo exhibition by artist Jesse Darling titled Stockholm Syndrome and Other System Failures, which runs 31 March through 8 April 2012.

The opening reception is this Friday 30 March 2012 from 18:00, so FYI those in London. A good bet. Maybe even a good cocktail. Maybe even some music and a bit of a good dance. It's up to you.

From the press/net release:

HOW TO SURVIVE LIFE IN AUSTERITY AS A TARGETED CONSUMER DEMOGRAPHIC:

1. Embrace and explore the [post]structural possibilities of precarious living;

2. #OCCUPY and RESIST (strategies might include: spending unproductive time at consumer retail outlets; developing a successful online brand to help you W̶i̶n̶ ̶F̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶I̶n̶f̶l̶u̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶P̶e̶o̶p̶l̶e̶ accrue and disseminate affective capital for a better world; booty jamming; crying in public).

3. TMI <-- ≓ / ⋟ PIDH = ☯/ↀ

4. Always "be" "yourself."

Plus a lot of hash tags, gif-references and a new art lingo term, #technopovera, which I am quite fan of. Check.

EDIT: Read a great interview with Jesse Darling by Tom Clark and Rózsa Farkas of Arcadia_Missa on Mute's website, metamute.org/editorial/articles/self-compression-interview-jesse-darling!
