Autumn Winter 07/08 Round-Up (Part 2)

Yves Saint Laurent: A definite steering away from YSL's summer aesthetic. This collection is darker, smarter and more unified. There is a strict consistancy to the looks. Quite rigid fabrics, unusual shapes and subtle accessories. Scarves, gloves, tights, balaclava-like hats and chic bags all play a big part in achieving this winter-YSL look. Very, very nice! Models: Alana, Rachel, Angelika.
Yohji Yamamoto: High fashion for the gothic-minded. For those who love black, layering, leather and a touch of C19th respectability, plus some glamour. Yamamoto is so focussed on HIS aesthetic and I adore that. He's constantly producing strong collections which are new, challenging and, most importantly, very Yohji Yamamoto. Models: Helen, Irina.

Yigal Azrouel:Easy wear, comfy wear. Clothes for intelligent people! Dark, moody colours brightened up by hints of colour and a cool-girl attitude to boot. Models: Alexandra, Heidi.
Vivienne Westwood: Big, big layering. Lots of texture. Exaggerated hats, clashing fabrics that don't actually clash. Patterns, plains and most importantly a certain eccentricity to the garments! So fab. Model: Amber.
Viktor & Rolf: Oh the theatrics of V & R! It's fabulous! The clogs and floral patterns channel their Dutch heritage and the stage lights suspended above the models' shoulders represent the spectacle of V & R. Then there's those simple, unobtrusive outfits which are subtly V & R: white blouses (with carefully-puffed sleeves), black skirts (with almost-hidden bows), beige trench-coats ... all teamed with clogs! Rad. Models: Julia, Bette, Maryna.
Versace: Sexy!! Blacks and browns dominated and then "wham!", a whole array of the brightest shades of orange, red, blue, green and purple! How superb! OTT fur coats, flowing Versace-esque dresses and short figure-hugging LBD's. Lovely collection, Donatella! Models: Agyness, Jessica, Mariya.
Vera Wang: Layering, layering. Many different colours. Slouchy. Well-fitted. Shiny. Dull. A collection for the Vera Wang woman: sophisticated but edgy. Combines evening fabrics with day - I love that! CONTRAST IS KING! Models: Grieta, Sofi.
TSE: A mixture of interesting lengths, contrasting ideas and winter-themed textures and colours. V. RTW. Models: Georgia, Anja.
Stella McCartney: Big, baggy, comfy, layered, short, smart. Greys and blacks with red and pink highlights. A gloriously RTW collection from McCartney, which just makes me wanna snuggle up in one of her big jumpers with a cup of tea ... mmm. Models: Natasha, Bette, Fabiana.
Sophia Kokoksalaki: Winter sex-appeal combined with practical layering and fabrics. Love the jackets. Gorgeous dresses and fabrics. Models: Daria, Romina, Olga.

Proenza Schouler: A dark, diva-esque collection for sophisticates. The hats are divine, making every outfit very chic. Slouchy man pants with feminine tops? Highly-structured dresses? Exaggerated coats? It's variety like no other! Models: Han, Hana, Tanya.
Pringle of Scotland: A collection of great layering, smart lengths and always with warmth in mind. Model: Snejana.
Preen: I can't explain Preen AW 07, but I just really love it. It's just got this extremely cool feel to it. Love the texture and the uncommon layering. The drop-waist jacket with like-coloured scarf-look is a stunner, such a fan of this skinny-leg-bulbous-top look ... did that sound strange? Haha! Models: Camila, Iekeliene, Adina.
Prada: Iconic Prada. Ridiculously forward fashion. Miuccia Prada is a genius of our times. I love the way her shirts sit on the body, the subtle colour changes she uses (which has become signature Prada) and the unusual colour-combinations used. PLUS, the clashing of conservative with out-there - both fabric and design wise - is fabulous. Prada is more than words can describe! Models: Daiane, Johanna, Lara.
Pollini: Styley lady meets rock star. Love the consistancy of the berets throughout the show. Nice rigid sleeve-structure also a cool motif here. Models: Shannan, Ines.
Phi: OK, this collection combines two of my great loves: dark colours and layering. Spot on! Model: Freja.
Peter Jensen: Delicate C19th combined with new-age punk, moody colours and ultra-flattering lengths/cuts. Nice. Model: Brea.
Nina Ricci: Theyskens for Nina Ricci = fabulous! Soft, harsh, cool, RTW, new, whimsical, strong, feminine, masculine. It's just so fantastic and I'm so happy about Olivier Theyskens appointment at Nina Ricci! Ultimate cool. Models: Masha, Tatiana, Anabela, Olga.
Nathan Jenden: Punk mixed with 80's glam and feminine silhouettes. Tres cool. (Loving the shoes and lacy socks!) Models: Diana, Daul.

Autumn Winter 07/08 Round-Up (Part 1)

Short. Sweet. Concise. That's what I'll try to make this round-up of my favourite AW 07 collections, models, accessories, make-up, hair, etc. Maybe we'll even see some sort of a thread coming through of what sums up AW 07? Let's see ...

Moschino: Sweet, pretty, and feminine whilst being sexy and strong. Moschino in a nut shell? Models: Heather, Behati.
Miu Miu: Simple, beautiful, straight-forward ... Intricate, detailed, delicate. Colours are fantastic. Miuccia is a genius. Models: Kasia, Serafima.
Marc Jacobs: Grungy blue hair circa 1997 teamed with conservative pants/suits in shades of grey ... rad. Models: Katia, Zosia.
Marc by Marc Jacobs: Marc for the kids! Cool. Grunge. Comfy. Winter ... with a hint of chic. I heart Marc. Models: Suvi, Carol, Laragh, Chanel.
Louis Vuitton: Loving this classy, sleek new Louis Vuitton look. Chic from head to toe. Nice use of colour, too. Models: Irina, Catherine, Vlada. More shoes to add to my "wants"-list. Damn, these are fine!
Lanvin: Lanvin gave a great collection, but I was most taken by the divine shoes and the black wigs that all the girls were marched out in. Lovely make-up, too. Model: Ali.
Karl Lagerfeld: These shoes! Are! Amazing! I love! Them! So punk-rock.
Jil Sander: I love Raf Simons' constancy. Classic, beautifully made, tailored and structured garments, which are nothing but Jil Sander. I love singularity in fashion. Models: Alice, Sasha, Johanna.
Jill Stuart: As I always say, contrast is king, consistancy is king. This collection combines both those elements. Extremely strong. Great colour. Stuart kept herself firmly on track with this one. Models: Alyona, Carolina.
Givenchy: Chic, elaborate, tough, laid-back. Givenchy went cool this season. Models: Lisa, Kim, Raquel.
Chloe: A really new direction for Chloe = fantastic! I love the limited colour-palette and the edgier feeling to this collection. Yet it still retains that very "Chloe" feel. Models: Han, Kinga. A must-have shoe for AW 07! I ADORE THESE!! Anyone got a spare $3000? Haha!
Chanel: Classic Chanel teamed with a great winter vision and classy, classy, classy styling! I really loved this collection. Models: Lily, Bruna
The hair and make-up was sensational. How divine, the girls were given that flushed look one gets in winter! Model: Gemma
Balenciaga: I can't describe how much I love this collection ... perhaps structure, motif, RTW and innovation equals perfection? Models: Magdalena, Sheila Genius shoes! I'm thinking Lego! Gemma Ward for Balenciaga! She was in fine form for this show, loved it! PS. This make-up is divine, the "Balenciaga gang" as Raquel Zimmermann calls it!
Alexander McQueen: future world vs. ancient Egypt vs. McQueen. We're all winners. Model: Egle
Ann Demeulemeester: black, white, masculine, epitome-cool. Model: Nataliya

OK, so maybe I'm not very good at being "short", "sweet", or "concise" when it comes to fashion, but you get the idea!
